Valerie Boyd
Gospel recording artist, songwriter, musician, and vocal teacher, Valerie Boyd was born in Greenville North Carolina. An offspring of a family of singers, she began singing at her grandfather’s church at the age of three. By the age of sixteen she was awarded a scholarship for voice and piano at the world acclaimed Carnegie Hall. She went on to attend the nationally recognized high school of music and art and then studied music at Hofstra University.
Valerie's professional career started as a member and lead soloist of the contemporary gospel group New York City Family. Her first solo album "Interpretations 1" captured the attention of the gospel music industry, and landed her on the cover of Cash Box Magazine. She went on to record several projects afterwards which includes "Interpretations 2", "Back Home Live" which produced her hit single "Get Me Out Jesus", "Symphony of the Heart" "Victory" and her latest project "Live at the Palace".
Today Valerie travels nationally and internationally as her ministry of word and song touches, encourages, and brings hope through the message of Jesus Christ. Her musical versatility has allowed her to grace the stages of Morris Cerullo, R.W. Shambach, Marilyn Hickey, T.D. Jakes, A.R. Bernard, Juanita Bynum, and Bobby Jones. She has shared the stage with some of the gospel industry’s greatest such as Timothy Wright, Shirley Caesar, Yolanda Adams, CeCe Winans, Kim Burrell, Wess Morgan, Donnie McClurkin, Israel Houghton and more. She has also collaborated on several projects with Reverend Timothy Wright, David Bratton, Richie Righteous, and Juanita Bynum.
Not only is Valerie Boyd an anointed vocalist, she is also an ordained Evangelist who served under the leadership of her father in-law, Apostle John H Boyd Sr, for 40 plus years and now standing by her husband and pastor as the first lady. While remaining faithful to her church, Valerie also continues to minister in prisons, rehabs, nursing homes and on the streets. Valerie founded Valsings vocal Institute where she teaches others to sing and further their singing careers. Names like Judith McAllister and Juanita Bynum are two of her former students. In 2019 Valerie founded The G.E.M Mentorship, a program designed to empower women to build a greater quality of life in Wellness, Lifestyle, and Career. Today Valerie continues to wear many hats and take on new ventures. In the Gospel making world, Valerie Boyd is a standout who believes the best has yet to come.
